Montana Road Trip

I had  the good fortune of taking a road trip with my daughter to help her relocate to  Billings, Montana. We left on Sunday, October 12th and arrived in Billings on the 15th. Our initial two days were greeted by gray skies and intermittent rain; not an auspicious opening to a girls' trip. However, the skies cleared in South Dakota where we spent time in the Badlands.  Words cannot describe the impact of these ancient geological formations upon us, but I hope some day that we both have the opportunity to spend more time here. We were mesmerized by our trip through this part of South Dakota in spite of the numerous poisonous snake warnings in this national park. Bucket list wish: Camp overnight in the Badlands during a full moon. Pure magic.

Entering  the Badlands  was particularly scary, as a gigantic menacing prairie dog guarded the entrance to the park. Thankfully, we met the challenge and survived this first test of the mysterious Badlands.
